The structure of microporous plate muffler is similar to that of resistive muffler. The reason why small aperture can improve the sound absorption system is that the energy loss of sound wave depends on the friction loss of air in the micropore. The friction loss depends on the sound resistance of the sound absorption structure. The greater the sound resistance is, the greater the friction loss is. The sound resistance is inversely proportional to the square of the aperture. As the pore diameter of the microplate is reduced to less than 1 mm, the acoustic resistance of the microplate is greatly increased compared with that of the ordinary orifice plate (from several millimeters to more than ten millimeters), and the sound absorption system is improved.
